You can find the Marketplace 3CX Appliance in the TCC Marketplace.

In your TCC environment, go to the storage 'TCC_Marketplace' in one of your nodes. Select the 3CX backup file and click on 'Restore'. Choose which storage the machine should use and any VM ID. Also select the check mark next to 'Unique'. This ensures that the MAC addresses of network cards become unique. Then click on 'Restore'.

The VM is created with minimum system requirements. Before the machine powered up, there are a number of steps to be taken:

  • Click the 'Options' tab of the VM and enter the hostname you want to give to the machine.
  • Click on the "Hardware" tab of the VM and click on "Add" and select "CloudInit Drive".
  • Choose the storage where this image should come from and click on 'Create'.
  • Set the size of the disk to the format you want. On each reboot the disk will be enlarged automatically.
  • Configure the network card on the correct bridge and the correct VLAN. Do not forget uncheck 'Advanced' - 'Disconnect'.

  • Click on the 'Cloud-Init' tab of the VM, select 'IP Config (net0)' and click 'Edit'.
  • Enter the IP addresses of the server or choose DHCP and click 'OK'.

  • Select 'SSH public key' and click 'Edit
  • Cut and paste your SSH public key in the box and click on 'Ok'
  • Click on 'Regenerate Image'

You are now ready to start the VM! When the machine is booted you can use ssh to login to the vm as user debian. The IP address (if you have deployed DHCP) can be seen in the 'Summary' of the VM.

If you are logged on to the machine as user debian, you can become root using sudo. Then install and configure 3CX:

debian@3cx-test:~$ sudo -i
root@3cx-test:~# apt install 3cxpbx
