Urgency : Planned,
Expected impact: medium to high
During this maintenance we will migrate multiple links from the spine-switch to a recently added leaf-switch on Tuxis-1.
This migration will result in a temporary loss in router redundancy in Ede.
This is a follow up from the maintenance during may this year (Replacement of spine-switch Tuxis-1).
In case we run into issues we have TAC from our switch supplier on stand-by to assist into investigating and (where possible) fix the issue.
If the situation is not fixable right away we will commit a roll-back to the previous situation.
Update 06-08-25 01:03:
At 2300 maintenance started with the migration of two links connecting to the (standby) core-router located at Tuxis-1.
After migrating these links we noticed that the error and discard counters for IPv6 neighbor-discovery increased at a fast pace, this resulted in similar issues as the maintenance on 08-05-2025.
Due to the fact that the core-router at Tuxis-1 was in standby mode the impact of this change was smaller than on 08-05-2025 but still noticeable.
This resulted in IPv6 packet loss and in some cases IPv6 traffic that was not working at all.
In collaboration with TAC we immediately started investigating the issue but where unable to find a fix for the issue.
